Such hubris from man
That he believes the world was built for him
Hoarding all that he can
As if entitled to possession

When mankind emerged he thought himself unique and chosen
That he was gifted all within the world he rose in
Guzzling the lakes he finds
Leaving dregs and trash behind
But all that’s here is all for him, ‘til all is wasteland, sludge, or frozen
Surely, all the lesser creatures are under his command
He’ll bend them and he’ll break them ‘til they’re eating from his hand
He tells himself their brain
Cannot know fear or pain
Forgetting he was once a simple ape not long ago from where he stands
Audaciousness of him
Consuming all within the Earth

When the white man arrived he thought himself superior
And all without his skin and dick, weak and inferior
The dark of flesh saw whip and chain
Lifebearers, scorn and disdain
Ignoring we’re all brains and blood and meat, in myriad exteriors
Thus man built his mighty empires to conquer land
As if to own the mountains, trees, and grains of sand
Regardless of the peoples there
Innocent and unaware
That these marauding men would raze their homes and cultures, who could understand?
Audaciousness of him
Consuming all within the Earth

Pumping fossils from the Earth
Seeking only wealth and worth
Burning to enrich himself, ‘til smoke engulfs and all is frozen
Does he know he feeds upon the ground beneath his feet?
Insatiable, he’s destined to be drowned in molten heat
A balance must be struck before
Him and all that he adores
Is buried under mountains of the toxic fecal matter he excretes
